I am an easy going, curious, and very independent person by nature. I value honesty and family above all things. My background is mixed (British – Egyptian) and have spent approximately a third of my life in each location so am a fairly even mix with quite a lot of international influence, having spent the remaining third between lots of different places (mainly Mediterranean and Middle Eastern countries). I’ve travelled a lot and still enjoy it but am starting to enjoy a slower, more settled life and hope to find the right partner to complete this. I consider myself to be religious and enjoy learning more about my faith and am inspired by rationalist teachers such as Sheikh Khaled Abu Al Fadl, Abdel Hakim Murad, Yahya Rhodus and Hamza Yousef. I love being in nature and currently live in quite a rural part of England. Fortunately, I am able to work remotely with occasional travel to some interesting countries. I work in International Development- a field I love and am deeply committed to. I believe strongly in social justice and protecting human rights and have dedicated my career to that. I’m looking for someone serious about settling down with strong family values and capacity for loving kindness. I’d prefer a partner with a similar educational level as myself who is serious about their faith but not judgemental. I definitely cannot deal with jealous, controlling, or patriarchal men. I believe marriage should be a partnership where we can compliment and support one another – and most importantly act with kindness and compassion always. It would be fantastic if my partner could speak Arabic as that side of me is an important part of my identity and if I were to have kids it would be important to me that they speak the language. I definitely prefer someone who is curious and open-minded about this big wide world we are blessed to live in and who would like someone to explore it with.
