Salam walaikum. I’m a practicing brother who’s acts are conditioned as much as possible on what Allah enjoins for us. I try to not interpolate cultural practices with my deen and consider myself just a Muslim. I understand my faith very logically and would really appreciate someone who critically thinks when evaluating things related to deen and frankly any other important dunya matters (you’ll usually find deen central to these also).

As you might have noticed by the intro, my faith is my identity. However being British, I still have habits and behaviours that are influenced by my environment. Sometimes these are benign, but other things may be not, but I try to identify and improve these. Generally though I try to be humourous and light hearted, but with a serious streak when discussing history (especially Islamic) or current socio-political trends.

In terms of hobbies, I’m into gaming. I also run (5k a few times a week) and workout with free weights. I am on my phone more than I should be, but usually its reading something meaningful rather than social media posts (although I might discover the meaningful info there). I haven’t read a book in a while but read lengthy articles on important subjects.

The above is just a general overview, and as such it is difficult not to come across two dimensional. I hope I have the opportunity to show my well rounded character through further interactions.

What I’m looking for in a wife. The below are also expected of me and I will always try to go above an beyond where possible.

– Practicing and hijab observant.

– Works to continually improve themselves physically, mentally, spiritually. Not in a superficial or comparative sense, but always trying to improve on there own personal best.

I believe marriage is the best opportunity for self development and growth. So improving on these things in a union, interacts with and enhances the marriage experience.

– Good communicator.

– Prepared to share the burden in a way that plays to strengths. I am able to cook and clean, but if I’m prevented by work commitments I would expect my partner to pick up the slack (and vice versa).

– Attentive partner in terms of intimacy and needs.
