Assalamualaikum
I am a British Bengali, born and raised in Portsmouth and
I would describe myself as:

Honest and trustworthy, I am more of a listener than talker, someone who is a deep thinker and has a philosophical outlook on the world – I would say that I am more of an introvert and like to keep to myself. I am not too sure who I am or where I am in life. Nor am I entirely sure of what direction I am taking (I think I am a little lost – I hope this isn’t a bad thing? ) but alhamdullilah because I think I have grown closer to our deen and would like to improve myself on this inshallah.
I am more family oriented than an outside person (but that does not mean I do not wish to travel the world – inshallah I can do this with my future spouse). I like to be myself and rarely compare myself to others. I am not the one to follow fashion and trends and am interested in learning more about the world and our deen.

I am quite a sensitive and deep individual and can be on the serious side at times – I. E. when it come to things that are meaningful to me or am passionate about – but do not get me wrong I am not a bad tempered person 🙂
I would not say that I am a “good” person, or “religious” (only Allah can judge this), so do not get such an impression if you do after reading my profile. When it comes to the deen everyone’s iman peaks at times and drops other times. I have only relatively recently been performing my 5 daily salah and have so far kep to this alhamdullilah. Inshallah I would like to further my knowledge on our deen and would like to share this with my future spouse as none is perfect on the deen.
We all have our own faults, and I am willing to discuss what I believe our my negatives if you do show interest or contact me.

If you have any questions – whether ‘general’ or ‘specific’ (e. g, interests, activities, hobbies, dislikes, ambitions, or anything else) – then please feel free to ask 🙂 You won’t know unless you ask. The question is ‘will I be able to answer’?

I hope this profile is a good representation of myself at the moment? Only Allah knows the state of a person and what changes a person will go through and I hope to find someone where me and him can learn & grow together inshallah.

*I am looking for someone similar to myself- someone who can understand me and help me in my difficult times. Someone who I can have deep meaningful conversations with. Of course I will help him to.

*I am also interested more in a brother who may not necessarily know their direction in life -i.e. maybe you are someone who is not sure of where you are in life, your future goals/career/aspirations etc (as I would say that this is generally my position also) . But I am open-minded. I would like to grow and develop ourselves together, inshallah.

* A reflective and sincere brother – someone who cares less about the materialistic nature of the world.

*Someone who can just be their ownself without having to compare themself to others or according to societal norms, being sincere to themself.

* A brother who is either close to the deen or would like to improve himself on the deen. You do not have to be “islamically sound” – there’s always hope for this if you are willing, inshallah

* You do not need to be “perfect” as I am very open-minded, even if you have made mistakes in your life. Everyone goes through different things in their life.
* I love to accept people for who they are

*Someone who will communicate, values family, is trustworthy, honest, understanding and sincere. Someone who does not expect much from me except for a good relationship based on mutual understanding and connection inshallah.

* Someone who lives relatively close to Portsmouth – i. e in a good commutable distance

*Someone with the same ethnic origin as me – i.e. Bengali – as it will make our understanding with each other better even if you’re a Brit who can’t speak Bengali or understand bengali culture
